Best practices for accurate counts

Get the most accurate inventory counts with these tips:

info One SKU at a Time

Count one item type per photo. Mixed inventory (different SKUs together) should be photographed separately.

info Visible Stock Only

AI counts what it can see. Items hidden behind others or in closed containers won't be included.

info Standard Items

Common inventory items (boxes, bottles, pallets) work great. Highly custom items may need a few attempts.

info Under 900 Units

For large quantities, split into multiple photos. Each image handles up to ~900 items reliably.

Common questions

Does it work offline?
No, images are processed on cloud servers. This enables fast, accurate results without requiring powerful hardware on your end.
What inventory can I count?
Most visible inventory items — boxes, bottles, pallets, containers, parts, produce, and more. The AI auto-detects what's most countable in each photo.
How accurate are inventory counts?
Very accurate for well-organized stock with clear visibility. The visual overlay lets you verify every count and make adjustments if needed.
Is it free to use?
Yes, currently ZapCount is free during our experimental phase. We may introduce premium tiers for enterprise features later.
Can I export counts to my inventory system?
API integration is on our roadmap. For now, you can manually enter counts into your system or use our Mobile Inventory app for full inventory management.
What photo formats work?
JPG, PNG, and WebP up to 10MB. Higher resolution photos generally produce better counts, especially for smaller items.
